VOTE FOR PEACE


The Constitution of Ghana imposes a constitutional obligation on eligible Ghanaians to exercise their franchise every four years and as such 7th December, 2012 is a call to our duty to go to the polls and exercise our franchise.
It is however important to take cognisance of the fact that our right cannot be decoupled from our responsibility to exercise our franchise in a peaceful and congenial manner.
Yes, Ghana has endeared for herself an enviable accolade as a shining star of democratic culture and posterity will not pardon us if do anything untoward to derail the peace & development we currently enjoy. Ghana's democracy although a maturing one, to most countries especially those on the African continent is number one and we must do everything to safeguard it like an egg shell, lest it drops & breaks.
Let us not be complacent at all that we have done it before and we will be able to do it again easily. As our beloved late President John Evans Atta Mills and may his soul rest in peace ones said "we have no place we call home; that is why we must allow the things which unite us to override the things which divide us. Whether we are from Wiawso to Keta, from Bumprugu to Accra, whether we are Akans or non- Akans, we are all Ghanaians and our oneness is what defines our common destiny”.
Let me not bore you with so much talk but to plead with you to relay this message to others and ask you vote number one for peace to ensure growth, sustenance, progress, hope and development. For there can be no development without Peace. Like the first two lines of the first stanza of our national anthem says," God Bless Our Home Land Ghana and Make Our Nation Great and Strong. "

Something funny happened to me the other day, when I went to the hospital. After seeing the General Practitioner (GP), she directed me to the laboratory to run some tests. Upon reaching the laboratory, I presented my request form from the GP to the laboratory technician, also a lady. She asked me to take a seat and fold up my long sleeve in preparedness for her drawing my blood. I must confess, I don't fear anything more than syringes. I hate them! LET YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE THAT ALL MAY SEE

I volunteered on November 25, 2017 to mentor young people desirous of shaping themselves to leading the change they want to see in their communities at BarCamp Sunyani, hash tagged #bcsyi. The program was organized by Ghana Think Foundation, under the able leadership of the pragmatic Ato Ulzen-Appiah and his competent team. Ato is a pacesetter when it comes to the organization of youth programs in this country. He is either behind the scenes coordinating the program or moderating it. So what made ‘Brewster’s Millions’ tick? A young man is tasked to spend, or perhaps misspend $30 million in 30 days, to inherit a $300 million fortune willed to him by his great-uncle he never met. To help him dispense the cash quickly, he forms a political party which campaigns against itself and everybody else, urging the electorate to elect ‘None of the Above’ as Mayor of New York. He fulfils the conditions at the very last second to earn the millions he never worked for. Turns out the electorate did actually vote for the ‘None of the Above’ party, forcing a re-election for a new mayor. This Walter Hill-directed comic masterpiece is good enough for a movie.
